Game Viewing in Sabi Sands
State of the art open safari vehicles have been extensively modified to ensure your safety and comfort. Delicious snacks and drinks are part of the game drives which set off at dawn and dusk every day on a safari in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.
Since there is no fence between Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, African wildlife moves unhindered between the two areas which ensures a wonderful wildlife experience, with memorable and exciting big game viewing opportunities.
Lucky guests might be able to spot Cheetah and the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino) or Hippo and Crocodile. There is also a multitude of general plains game and over 450 bird species that may be viewed from the comfort and safety of the open game drive vehicle during a safari in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.
Children on Safari
Children of all ages are welcome with their families when booked into the Savanna Suite however no children under 8 years of age will be permitted at the main lodge.
Each day there are two morning and late afternoon game drives which include a drink and snack break. There are a number of exciting kids activities during the middle of the day. These will be selected according to age and individual interests and could include butterfly and bug catching, uses of plants, hair braiding, art and craft, bush picnics, spoor identification and outings.
A children’s menu is available on request - parents should advise the lodge in advance if there are special requirements. Each child receives a special bush bag with goodies to add to their safari experience. Any items collected from the activities during your child’s stay will be put together in a scrapbook as a memento of everything they have experienced.
