The Nostalgic Rail Adventure Experience
The Sabi Sands region in the past was host to a railroad that carried gold from the goldfields to Delagoa Bay on the coast. Today signs of the railroad can still be seen and it is in the theme of this bygone era that a stay at Selati Camp can be appreciated. Harking back to the days of old provides for a unique safari, however the wildlife is as dramatic as the lodge is unique.
Knowledgeable guides and trackers will show you the wilderness that seems as untouched as it was then, and they will ensure close encounters with the big game on game drives and walks. Add to all this spa treatments, and great hospitality, and the Nostalgic Rail Adventure becomes the African Safari of a lifetime.
Day 1: Johannesburg to Sabi Sands Game Reserve
Today you will leave Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport on a flight to the Sabi Sands. Your ranger will meet you and take you to your lodgings where you will be staying for the next two nights. Game drives and walking safaris will allow you to view the wilderness from all angles.
Game viewing activity: Afternoon game drive.
Day 2: Safari Lodge in Sabi Sands
An early morning wakeup call with tea and coffee will start the day of new discoveries. Under the guidance of your ranger you will head out and explore the area looking for wildlife and listening to the fascinating information provided by the ranger. The tracker and ranger know the area well and will ensure an unforgettable game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast it is time for a guided bush walk or maybe just relaxing in your room before lunch and afternoon tea, after which you will head out on another drive. Sundowners somewhere in the bush are a highlight and on the way back to the camp, you will have the opportunity to see some of the nocturnal creatures.

Day 3: Sabi Sands to Johannesburg
This is the last day of your luxury South African Safari in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.
After a morning game drive and breakfast it will be time to catch your return flight to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.
