Daily activities on your Sabi Sands safari include the early morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big Five.
Two game drives go out every day. On the very early morning drive you are served refreshments under a Thorn Tree and on the sunset drive, drinks and snacks. Walking safaris in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve are also offered, so that guests can get a very intimate understanding of their surroundings.
Arathusa Safari Lodge prides itself on it Leopard viewing opportunities. About 14 of these elusive cats live in the local radius, 6 of which are seen on a regular basis. There is a female Leopard named ‘Safari’ who is often seen around the camp.
On a Sabi Sands safari, most guests will see the Big Five, very often in one day, sometimes in one drive. You are assured of a first-class experience in the wilderness with your experienced and knowledgeable game ranger and tracker.
Adding colour and endless variety, African wildlife such as Giraffe, Zebra, Warthog, Impala and more are abundant in the Sabi Sands Reserve. Bird lovers will have their hands full spotting at least 300 species in the area and around the camp rarer birds such as the Horus Swift can be seen.
For the more energetic, nothing beats a bush walk with one of the armed rangers and trackers to learn about the ecology and African wildlife. A bush walk is best enjoyed in the morning after a sumptuous English or Continental breakfast. The afternoon game drive affords you the opportunity to have a sundowner at a carefully selected venue somewhere in the bush.
This Safari Lodge offers a comprehensive spa and wellness experience. There are two tranquil rooms overlooking the camp's waterhole where a wide choice of treatments can be enjoyed. Trained therapists administer facial treatments, massage therapy, signature treatments as well as bath ceremonies, body wraps, manicures and pedicures.
